DALLAS
Mission:Dignity® recipients in Arizona will receive an extra check — a 13th check — in 2023, thanks to churches in the Arizona Mission Network of Southern Baptists.
Arizona is the latest state convention to join with GuideStone® to provide a check equivalent to one month’s honorarium to Mission:Dignity recipients within their state.
“The Arizona Mission Network of Southern Baptists is so proud to be able to minister to these who have served the Lord so faithfully over the years,” said David Johnson, executive director of the Arizona Mission Network. “It is a privilege to be able to bless those who have blessed so many others. We pray God will continue to provide for them in every way.”
In 2022, Mission:Dignity assisted more than 2,800 individuals with extra money needed for housing, food and vital medications. It also ensures a well-deserved dignity, independence and, often, the ability to continue serving the Lord. Last year, 13 pastors and their wives, or their widows, in Arizona were served through Mission:Dignity.
GuideStone President Hance Dilbeck expressed his thanks for the continued generosity of Arizona SBC churches.
“All of us at GuideStone are thankful for our ministry partners in Arizona,” Dilbeck said. “We are thankful that our Mission:Dignity recipients there will know the additional check they receive is due to the love, support and prayers of their fellow Southern Baptists. It is a tremendous blessing as the Arizona Mission Network of Southern Baptists comes alongside us to aid these faithful servants.”
Mission:Dignity expressed its thankfulness for the efforts of Arizona churches.
“Arizona Southern Baptist churches join thousands of others nationwide who have seen fit to bless these retired soldiers of the cross in their declining years,” Mission:Dignity Director Aaron Meraz said. “It is an honor for us to be able to provide this vital support.”
