DALLAS
Mission:Dignity® recipients in Mississippi received an extra blessing to start the year thanks to the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and Mississippi Baptist Foundation.
For the third year in a row, recipients received this “13th Check” due to state convention and foundation efforts.
“Thanks to our generous donors, we can support over 2,800 retired ministers and other church workers or widows monthly,” Mission:Dignity Director Aaron Meraz said. “Our goal is to be the hands and feet of Christ, to ensure the elders who rule well are worthy of double honor.”
Last year, 20 state conventions and/or foundations provided extra benefits like the 13th check to Mission:Dignity recipients.
“We are again blessed to provide a 13th check to the recipients of Mississippi Mission:Dignity recipients,” said Shawn Parker, executive director-treasurer of Mississippi Baptists. “Many of these recipients write to thank us for the generosity, and the very spirit of those notes is a reminder that these are choice servants of the Lord. They have given their lives to share and live the Gospel, and I’m thankful that we can honor them in this way. I’m also deeply appreciative to GuideStone for the vision and effort they put into Mission:Dignity.”
GuideStone® President Hance Dilbeck offered his thanks on behalf of Mission:Dignity’s recipients.
“Under Shawn Parker’s excellent leadership, our Mississippi Mission:Dignity recipients received an extra blessing,” Dilbeck said. “I’m so thankful for the generosity of our ministry partners who make these efforts possible each year.”
